The 11th edition of the O cup RT TORAX tournament has started, which this year is being played in the Ostravar Arena in Vítkovice due to the reconstruction of the home stand. The home side Poruba started with a 5:2 win over Jastrzebie, but Prostějov had to bow to the Polish opponent – in a shootout with Oświęcim, they lost 5:6 in extra time.
Poruba celebrates its first victory in preparation
After defeats in Prostějov and Katovice, RT TORAX got their first win in this year’s training. He stepped into the home action in style when he was already leading 4:1 in the 14th minute. In the rest of the match, he expertly guarded the lead and celebrated thanks to two goals from Latvian reinforcement Frenks Razgals, Tomáš Šoustal, Petr Mrázek and Aaron Berisha also scored. Poruba can add more points to the tournament table already on Thursday, when they will face off against another Polish opponent – Auschwitz.

Prostějov lost to Auschwitz in a shootout
Those who arrived in Ostrava later could have regretted it. After only ten minutes, the score was 2:2 and it was 3:3 for the first time in the locker room. Vilém Burian put the Hawks in the lead in the second half, but Auschwitz needed 56 seconds in the third period to turn the game around. Tomáš Drtil saved Prostějov at 57:10, but the extra time belonged to the Poles – Sweden’s Daniel Olsson-Trkulja decided it in a flash. Hanáci did not follow up on the win over Poruba, Jastrzebie awaits them already on Thursday.
