Royole returns to CES with a smart speaker and a connected notebook

Royole CES 2020 speaker
The Royole brand is once again highlighting its flexible and foldable screen technology at the world’s largest electronics fair.

After his remarkable presence last year, Royole returns to the front of the stage for the CES of Las Vegas. On the program for this 2020 edition: an enclosure and a connected notebook.

A flexible screen on an enclosure

Let’s start with the Mirage Smart Speaker: a connected speaker in the shape of a cylinder which emits sound at 360 ° and can reach a power of 30W. Two microphones are present so that the intelligent assistant can hear you. Here, it is Alexa, Amazon’s solution, which is proposed. As with an Echo speaker, it is therefore possible to perform all voice commands compatible with Alexa: ask for the weather, turn on your Xbox, turn off the lights …

Who says Royole, says integration of a screen, preferably flexible. The rule is confirmed with the Mirage, equipped with a 7.8 inch AMOLED touch screen with a definition of 1,920 x 1,440 pixels which is wrapped around the device. A 5 MP photo sensor also allows you to participate in video calls.

For the technical sheet, there is a SoC Snapdragon 524 from Qualcomm to propel everything. It is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage space. Launch in the second quarter of 2020 at a price of $ 899.

Writing on paper and finding your notes on your smartphone is possible

Royole also presents RoWrite 2, an evolution of the first connected notebook. Its sensors, housed in the leather case, digitize everything written in this notebook, the contents are then available directly on a mobile application. RoWrite 2, which works with a special pen with wireless charging, is thus a practical solution to have your notes clean automatically and to share them.

With this second iteration, Royole promises better accuracy and better autonomy than those of the first version, as well as a weight that is around 40% lower. Count 129 dollars for this product, which will be launched next March across the Atlantic.

As a reminder, Royole caused a sensation at CES 2019 with the FlexPai, the first folding screen smartphone on the market. A much less successful device than Galaxy Fold from Samsung and Mate X from Huawei, but which had caused a lot of ink to flow at the time.
