Royal Feud: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Cut from Friend’s Wedding Guest List

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been cut from the guest list of their friend’s upcoming wedding after the royal feud nearly overshadowed his own sister’s big day, British media outlet Daily Mail reports.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly not on the guest list for the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster, and long-term girlfriend Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral in June.

According to sources close to the royal couple, King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales will also be invited to the wedding. Hugh is a close friend of the royal family and godfather to Prince George as well as Prince Archie.

He is believed to have decided not to invite the Sussex family to avoid family clashes at the House of Windsor.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duke made the “incredibly sad” decision not to invite Harry and Meghan because he is aware of how another royal row almost broke out in 2004 over the guest list for his elder sister Lady Tamara Grosvenor and her husband Edward van Cutsem’s wedding at the same venue place.

The late Queen was also invited to this wedding, as well as then-Prince Charles and Camilla, even though it was before the couple were married. It was reported that Camilla’s invitation came with the condition that she could not sit next to Charles or attend with him, as the late Queen and Prince Philip had also attended the wedding.

This is said to have angered Camilla and in the end neither she nor Charles attended the event and it is believed that the future king was not happy with the way his now wife was being treated.
