Ground staff at Royal Air Maroc (RAM) also oppose the company’s proposed pay cut. The union office of the National Federation of Air Transport recalls that no agreement has been given to date for a wage grab as one of the solutions to the crisis.

In a message to RAM ground staff, the union office of the National Federation of Air Transport, affiliated to the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), maintains that “the preservation of jobs and the interests of the company goes without saying first by optimizing and implementing a new approach to managing operating expenses, reports Le360. This would generate substantial savings, he said.

However, the ground staff union recalls that it remains open to certain concessions, provided that all avenues for reducing costs are exhausted in a clear, transparent and efficient manner, but also after having gone through the final action plan drawn up by management.

In addition, the union office reassures staff that any decision, in common agreement with management, would be subject to the prior approval of all employees. Also, he urged them not to trust rumors without any foundation.

Note that this message from the union office comes following a meeting organized at the beginning of the week with the management of the Moroccan airline company, during which “a convergence of points of view” could be identified regarding the pursuit of efforts to the sustainability of the company and the safeguarding of jobs.
