Estimated between two and eight billion dollars (46 to 186 billion crowns), most of which are at the expense of the organizers, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will help $ 800 million. So it’s no wonder that the Japanese’s enthusiasm for hosting games is fading, at least according to surveys.

The costs of the Czech Olympic Committee will increase by approximately twenty million crowns. “If we wanted to prepare events as in the original plan, it would be even more, but we have to save. We are planning the Czech House and other accompanying events in Tokyo on a smaller scale, “says Jiří Kejval, Chairman of the Czech Olympic Committee.
The IOC has abandoned its spring rhetoric that there is no Plan B, and is preparing several variations of the games it wants to present in the fall. “From the ideal one in full format to those with a number of security measures, as long as the organization of games still makes sense,” explains Kejval, who is also a member of the IOC.
Could the Olympics take place without spectators? Kejval can imagine that. “It simply came to our notice then. About six million viewers watch the game on sports grounds, and about three billion on television. We also have to think about them, and especially the athletes, who often have the only chance to start the Olympic game. It would be unfortunate, without spectators the sport does not have an atmosphere and it would be the worst option except to cancel the games completely, “says Kejval.
