Devices compliant with the European standard
Faced with this situation, the Metropolis of Rouen reacted, wishing to recall first of all the obligation to change the individual water meter at least every fifteen years. However, since January 1, 2019, all of the new devices installed are equipped with a radio head which makes it easier to read the meter.
In addition, the specialized services have underlined the fact that these devices are “Conform to European standard” and that they have “Passed the various tests positively”. They also specified that in case of refusal, the water supply could be cut but that this “Only happens in extremely rare cases, the installation being widely accepted by users”.
