Roßwein participatory budget: who wants money?

Roßwein. A participatory budget from which small projects can be subsidized with a big impact – something like this only exists in Roßwein in the Döbeln region. After the city councils have basically released the money for this, the application deadline is currently running.

Clubs, house and street communities or neighbors can get together and briefly write down what they would like to implement with which subsidy. Since parties were supposed to be supported in the first participatory budget, there is now an upper limit so that there is also room for other projects.

And so in the past year, for example, there was a greater need for opportunities to stay. So after the approval in the city council, several benches were set up, including in the village of Gleisberg.

From demonstration technology to the Schau-ins-Land-Bank

For Gleisberg and Niederstriegis there are 2,500 euros each in the participatory budget this year, the other Roßweiners have 5,000 euros at their disposal. That is half of the budget for 2019 and 2020. The reduction in 2021 is related to the difficult budget situation.

As in previous years, at least 20 supporters’ signatures are required for the idea and the cost statement. This is to ensure that the new acquisition benefits a larger group of people and not perhaps just two or three married couples who are friends.

For example, the Ullrichsbergers used the participatory budget to purchase projection technology for film evenings in the district. And above the Roßweiner Weinberg, strollers will now find a bench to linger. This was also bought through participatory budgeting, initiated by the Roßweiner SPD local group.

Note: Applications can be sent by email to [email protected] or sent by letter to the city administration. The city councils will then probably decide before summer which projects and ideas will be funded.
