Next, at 9:15 p.m., Rosario Central will begin its defense of the crown with its visit to Atlético Tucumán, at the same time that Newell’s will face Central Córdoba from Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina. The television for the first four matches will be in charge of Public TV (Matador against Verde and Ferroviario against Leprosy) and the cable signal TNT Sports (La Gloria against Los Malevos de Pompeya and Decano against Canalla).
For its part, Boca Juniors, which will have Diego Martínez’s debut as coach, will debut on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Platense, in Vicente López. On the River Plate side, Martín Demichelis’ men will host Argentinos Juniors at the Mas Monumental on Sunday at 7 p.m. In addition, Racing Club will host Unión de Santa Fe in Avellaneda (Saturday 9 p.m. and San Lorenzo will clash with Lanús in the New Gasometer on Saturday at 5pm).

One of the curiosities is that Independiente will visit Mendoza to begin the domestic competition against Independiente Rivadavia, a duel of namesakes that will mark one of the striking situations that the tournament will have (Friday 9:15 p.m.). In the same vein, the Cuyo team will not be classic of Godoy Cruz (despite being from the same winery province), since it will take the place of the relegated Colón and its pairing on the special interzonal date will be measured against Tatengue.
In relation to the famous date of the classics, it was marked on the calendar for the weekend of February 25. The Superclásico between River and Boca will be in Núñez, while the Avellaneda duel between Independiente-Racing will be played in the Libertadores de América-Ricardo Bochini and Huracán-San Lorenzo will be played in the Tomás Adolfo Ducó Palace. On the Rosario classic side, the venue chosen for the Newell’s-Rosario Central was the Coloso Marcelo Bielsa.

As in its previous edition, there will be two groups of 14 members each and 14 dates will be played, all against all. The best four from each group will qualify for the final stage in which there will be single-match quarterfinals, semifinals and final matches on a neutral court. The first championship of 2024 will be important for the addition of points to access the Copa Libertadores and the Sudamericana in 2025 according to the annual table. The champion will secure his ticket to the continent’s biggest event six months before its start. The same goes for the decline in the units accumulated in the season and what the averages will be.
