Trainer Juventus Massimiliano Allegri convinced Cristiano Ronaldo will stay in Turin. Allegri even said Ronaldo will have a bigger responsibility this season.
Ronaldo’s contract with Juventus has one year remaining. Ronaldo’s future at Juventus has also been the subject of speculation, with Paris Saint-Germain touted as the Portuguese star’s destination.
However, Ronaldo dismissed the speculation and confirmed his commitment to Juventus by returning to Turin for pre-season. He joined Juventus training on Monday (26/7/2021) after the summer break after strengthening Portugal at Euro 2020.
Allegri mentions Cristiano Ronaldo will have a bigger responsibility as one of the senior players at Juventus this season. The 36-year-old footballer is now the oldest player in the Juventus 2021/2022 squad.
“Ronaldo is a great player and he is a smart person. I spoke to him yesterday as I did with the others,” said Allegri as reported by the BBC. Football Italia.
“I told him it was an important season and I’m happy to see him again, now he has more responsibility, because three years ago we had a more experienced team, whereas now there are a lot of young players.”
“I expect a lot from him in terms of responsibility, he is in good shape and fit,” Allegri said of Ronaldo.
In the 2020/2021 season, Cristiano Ronaldo be Juventus’ top scorer. He scored 36 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions together Bianconeri.
Juventus will start the 2021/2022 Italian League on 22 August away to Udinese.
