Roméo Elvis speaks out again after accusation of aa …

With a new single, Roméo Elvis (28) makes himself heard again for the first time in nine months. The Brussels rapper has kept quiet since he was accused of sexual assault in September last year. In the song ‘TPA’ he looks back on his mistake.

“I realize I have used my hands inappropriately. I thought I accepted an invitation. When it turned out to be none, I quit. I’am sorry.” In his official statement after the sexual assault allegation last year, Roméo Elvis had a dry reaction. A young woman had accused him and supported this with private messages in which he apologized. It did not lead to legal action, but the commotion cost Elvis his collaborations with fellow rapper Damso and clothing brand Lacoste. Then it became quiet around the artist.

Until now: with TPA Roméo Elvis has released a new song. TPA – shortly before ‘anything can happen’ (‘alles kan gebeuren’, red.) – is about the downside of success and how quickly happiness can turn. “Now that I’m at the top, I can only fall,” he sings. A reference to the uproar. In a conversation with the French magazine Telerama Elvis goes deeper into the facts for the first time.

“I hope people will see that I understand my mistake,” he says. “I didn’t feel like writing a text that reflected on the matter, but at the same time I want to take my responsibility.” Elvis admits that he is ashamed of the events. “I understand that young woman’s reaction. I’ve learned lessons from it. Especially because my girlfriend and my little sister (Angèle zangeres, red.) were also held accountable on social media. While I am the one who caused everything. ”

TPA is the first work by Roméo Elvis since his 2019 hit record Chocolat and the mini-album Maison that followed. He is currently breeding on new material, but there is no release date yet.
