It was the 58th edition of the competition between two famous tennis players. The balance is slightly in favor of Djokovic, who has won 30 times. As part of the Paris tournament, they played for the ninth time, but the Serb turned out to be better only the second time. They fought, among others in the final of the previous edition.
The Majorca player – for good reason – is nicknamed “King of Clay Courts” and “King of Paris”. At the French Open, he triumphed a record 13 times. No one else has won a single Grand Slam event 12 times. He won 20 tournaments of this rank and is the all-time record holder in the men’s single.
The competitor from Belgrade won only one of his 18 Grand Slam titles in the French capital – in 2016. He still withdrew during the event due to a wrist injury.
Now Djokovic will face the seeded fifth Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
