Rogier Smit wants to focus on room rental after a painful TV fall

After his painful TV fall, Rogier Smit wants to focus on room rental via Airbnb. He has moved into a new apartment in the center of Leeuwarden. “It’s so big!”

The TV success of Frank Jansen and Rogier Smit was short-lived. After the two ended up in a fight divorce and rolled around in the street, their TV duoship came to an abrupt end. RTL announced just before the turn of the year that the contract with both gentlemen at 540 thousand euros per year has been dissolved.

Roger has moved

Rogier was in the news a few months ago because he turned out to be living on a Frisian campsite. What is the reason for that? “Cocaine costs a lot of money“, said RTL Boulevard presenter Eddy Zoëy.

In the meantime, thanks to the help of a good friend, Rogier has moved into a new apartment in the center of Leeuwarden and he has shared the photos with the weekly Party. “I really enjoy it here. It is truly a miracle that I ended up in this very beautiful house.”

Start Airbnb

Rogier now wants to start a new life without television. “I’m going to rebuild my life first. I plan to start an Airbnb here. The house is so big, I can easily rent out rooms from it and that also provides income, because nobody can live on the air.”

It is also nice to have people in your home from time to time, says Rogier. “And for the rest, I will first think carefully about what I want in the future. I do have several ideas, but I can’t say anything about them at the moment.”

‘It goes well’

According to Roger, he is doing well. “I have every confidence that something beautiful will come my way. And of course I wish Frank the best. I’ve had some really fantastic years with him, but I’m now focused on a different future.”

The men have not seen each other for a while. “Ah, maybe that will come again in a few years.”
