Roger Federer Wears Rare Rolex at 2024 Oscars – A Look at His Legendary Timepiece

Roger Federer shows off an extremely rare Rolex on the red carpet at the 96th Academy Awards.

Roger Federer has long been a style icon and is known for his extensive collection of rare watches. On Sunday he attended this year’s Oscars, just a few days after the presentation of the Laver Cup in San Francisco, the future host of the tennis tournament founded by the Swiss in 2017. The former tennis pro wore a modern yet classic black-tie combination of a white tuxedo jacket, black pants and bow tie, setting himself apart from other stars on the red carpet who broke the classic style rules. Oliver Peoples’ dark sunglasses distracted from the watch on his wrist at first glance.

Roger Federer’s Rolex watch at the 2024 Oscars is a legendary model

Roger Federer chose this from his watch collection Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Le Mansa very rare model that came onto the market in 2023.

Since its launch, the Cosmograph Daytona has been the watch of choice for motorsports fans, and famous actors and racing drivers such as Paul Newman have worn the timepiece beyond the race track. The watch was released as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the world’s most famous endurance race. The Daytona Cosmograph version is equipped with a Rolex-developed Caliber 4132, a self-winding mechanical movement that offers high performance in terms of precision and autonomy. A power reserve of 72 hours ensures absolute accuracy. The movement of this chronograph also allows a 24-hour count instead of the usual 12 hours on the Daytona, one of the Swiss brand’s absolute classic models.
