VANCOUVER – Roger Federer will be honored at the Laver Cup in Vancouver next month.
The 20-major champion will be invited to the pitch on September 22, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of his last competitive game.
Federer concluded his illustrious career at last year’s tournament, linking up with longtime rival Rafael Nadal for Team Europe.
They were beaten by Team World’s Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe at the O2 Arena, London.
Federer will do the draw for the last match of the day on September 22.
Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime will be part of the World Team at the tournament, which will take place from September 22 to 24 in Vancouver, at Rogers Arena.
