In recent days, Roger Federer has returned as the protagonist of the ATP Tour, after many weeks of rest. After a few months of absence and his brief return to the circuit in Doha, Roger played the ATP 250 tournament at home in Geneva.
Only, the Swiss still seemed to be in poor physical condition since he was eliminated in his first match against the Spaniard Pablo Andujar. The Swiss tennis star was also the protagonist of a beautiful moment on social media with Frenchman Gaël Monfils and his future wife, his current girlfriend and WTA Top 10 player Elina Svitolina.
Federer wanted to take up the challenge of Svitolina who, in 2020, had already targeted her boyfriend during several magnificent precise shots. The Swiss did not have the same success.
Federer hit his target with a low blow and his French colleague quickly threw himself to the ground (If he was in real pain? We may never know!) The whole thing ended in any case in a huge giggle.
It was therefore a funny French episode, perhaps a little less for Gaël, who is now the favorite target of Svitolina and Roger. Roger Federer will return to the court for the highly anticipated Roland Garros 2021.
