Built for gamers, ROG Zephyrus G14 dispels the myth of the bulky laptop for gaming, but does not penalize performance
Not Who said that a gaming notebook has to be big and heavy? To be honest, this has almost always been the case until now. To draw the way for an interesting future turning point is Asus, with its new ROG Zephyrus G14, a gaming machine that however winks at comfort, without penalizing performance.
In fact, we are talking about a “bomb” with a very powerful heart, thanks to the 8-core AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS CPU, which shows its muscles in the graphics phase, with the powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU™ 2060 which obviously helps in gaming, but also in multitasking and assembly, with 32 GB of RAM.
Before evaluating it technically, however, the ROG Zephyrus G14 stands out first of all for a very aggressive design: enough useless LEDs (even if we will discover that something is there!) And plastic, the body is in aluminum and magnesium and is particularly robust. Available in both light (white / silver) and dark versions, it has a very special function in the AniMe Matrix: in fact, on the back of the screen, inside the body, software programmable mini-LEDs have been inserted, which can thus create images, writings or simply serve as lighting at a preset frequency (for example in tune with music).
As for the screen, ROG Zephyrus G14 deploys a 14-inch Full HD 120 Hz panel, while the audio is guaranteed by Dolby Atmos with quadruple speakers, also suitable for movies and music and not just for video games.
The keyboard is also very popular, while the track pad is perhaps better combined with a mouse da gaming. The battery promises about ten hours of stress-free use: obviously the music changes with the CPU used to the maximum, with about two hours of autonomy. As for the weight, ROG Zephyrus G14 stops at 1600 grams, taking away a few pounds from rivals of equal power, which never hurts in terms of using a laptop just to take advantage of the convenience of being able to move it.
ROG Zephyrus G14 is positioned in short in the elite of the machines to which a gamer can aspire, but also winks at the transversal and daily use: being under the 2000 euro list price, it can be the right notebook to completely satisfy all the rose of our needs.
