Roel van Velzen, Karsu, Joe Buck, Belle Perez, Bökkers, Anneke van Giersbergen and Alides Hidding will participate in Best Singers next season. This year sunny Ibiza has been exchanged for a farm in South Limburg where these seven artists perform each other’s songs.

Yesterday it was announced that Jan Smit returns as host. Fans immediately speculated about the participants: Roel van Velzen appeared to have spotted them well.

In Best Singers, the singers show and hear what musical qualities they have to offer. AvroTros promises that ‘nice stories will arise on the couch again’. That bank is not in Ibiza this year, but on a farm in South Limburg. “Sunny and picturesque”, announces presenter Jan Smit.

The previous regular edition of the singing program was presented by fellow Volendam members Nick Schilder and Simon Keizer, as regular host Jan was resting due to his burnout. He recently presented the special Eurovision version, in which Floor Jansen stole the show while she was not even in the broadcast.

Breakthrough
Many artists from previous seasons of the program got their big break thanks to Dear Singers. The most famous example is probably singer Davina Michelle, who with her cover of Glen Faria’s Takes too long scored a big hit. Glennis Grace, André Hazes Jr., Tino Martin and Emma Heesters were also widely known for the program.

The new season of Dear Singers can be seen every Thursday from 2 September at 8.30 pm at AVROTROS on NPO 1.
