Rocky Gerung praised President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for genius for including PAN into the cabinet in yesterday’s reshuffle. Rocky assessed that the entry of PAN into Jokowi’s cabinet had an impact on Anies Baswedan’s support in the 2024 presidential election.
This was conveyed by Rocky in a collaboration discussion detik.com-Total Politics with the theme ‘Adu Perspectives: Jokowi’s Javanese Politics, Ojo Dumeh Bears Reshuffle’ which is broadcast on the YouTube channel detik.com, Wednesday (15/6/2022). Initially the discussion discussed the matter of having lunch with President Jokowi with the general chairmen of the government coalition party which was not attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
Rocky assessed that Ma’ruf’s absence from the lunch before the inauguration of Jokowi’s new minister was normal. Rocky then alludes to the presidential system.
“What is the importance of the vice president? From the start it wasn’t important. So if the vice president was present, people would ask ‘why did he come here?’ Let’s just say that the vice president’s algorithm doesn’t need to be present, this is the presidential cabinet, not the vice president’s cabinet, when it was chosen it was a package but actually we have to respect that this is indeed Pak Jokowi’s entire design. ” say Rocky Gerung.
Rocky said the cabinet represented the president’s vision. According to him, if Ma’ruf was at that lunch, then there was something unusual.
“Still, we have to consider a presidential system, the president of the cabinet represents the president’s vision, there is no other vision, if there is a vice president, people will say trade-in, later the vice president doesn’t know where he is sitting, sitting on the left or right,” he explained.
On Wednesday (15/6) yesterday, Jokowi officially inaugurated two new ministers and three deputy ministers for the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. The following are the ministers and deputy ministers appointed by Jokowi:
