In the first quarter of 2024, a CEF (closed educational center) will open in Rochefort in Charente-Maritime. The objective is to put young delinquent minors back on the right track and thus to avoid them imprisonment, by offering them a second chance, and by preparing them for social reintegration.
In this center, 12 young people aged 12 to 16 will be accommodated. These young people will be placed in these centers by court order, for a period of 6 months, renewable once. They will be accompanied by professionals, both psychologically and pedagogically. This CEF will be located on the site of the former Priouzeau gendarmerie barracks.
