China has ambitious space plans – which include launching a manned orbital station and a human landing on take. In 2019, the country became the first to land a space probe on the far side of the terrestrial satellite. In December, it brought moon rocks to Earth for the first time since the 1970s.

The United States also has an ongoing mission on Mars, with the robot Perseverance e a tiny helicopter exploring the planet. NASA, the American space agency, expects the robot to collect its first sample in July, to return to the Terra in 2031.

The third country with an ongoing mission on Mars are the United Arab Emirates. The Amal probe (“Esperança” in Portuguese, also known as “Hope”) was the first sent by the country to the planet. The launch took place in July 2020, days before the shipment of Tianwen 1 and Perseverance.
