He scored twice in the derby against Manchester United and, along with Raheem Sterling, they are the Citizens’ top scorers this season. At 31 years old, Riyad Mahrez became a full-fledged forward who now wants to support “Pep” Guardiola and seek to take other teams such as PSG and Chelsea.

He was born in France but became an Algerian national. In fact, he competed with the African team in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil when he barely appeared as an offensive option in Leicester that would achieve promotion to the Premier League. However, his career was also growing to the point of entering the radar of great casts despite having already passed the barrier of three decades.

Mahrez scored 21 goals and provided 7 assists across all competitions this season for Manchester City. That earned him a great place in Guardiola’s consideration but, beyond all, the striker was hanging around the winter transfer market. And now, for the summer, his last name has already found a place in the offices of Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea.

According to Foot Mercato, not even the departure of the Russian, Roman Abramóvich, caused the Blues to lose interest in the Algerian. In fact, they reported that the London institution continues “very interested” in having the scorer’s services and paying a sum between 30 and 40 million euros for the transfer. The contract of the extreme right will expire only in June 2023 but everything could be brought forward to the next window of changes they affirm from Europe.
