RIVM reports smallest number of deaths (26) since week after partial lockdown NOW

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) reports the smallest number of new deaths (26) on Monday since March 19, a week after the partial lockdown started. It also reports 42 new hospital admissions.

For five days in a row, the new number of deaths reported by RIVM has been under one hundred.

26 deaths is the smallest number since March 19, when 18 deaths were reported.

It is the ninth day in a row that RIVM reports fewer than a hundred hospital admissions. With 42 new admissions, the institute reports the smallest number since March 15, when 26 new admissions were reported.

On Sunday, the total number of deaths increased by 69 and 44 new admissions were reported. On Saturday, the total number of deaths increased by 94 and 97 new admissions were reported.

The total number of deaths in the Netherlands as a result of the coronavirus has risen to 5,082. 11,037 persons have been hospitalized or have been admitted.

The new figures from RIVM do not relate to the actual number of hospital admissions and deaths: these are only reports that have been received by the institute, and there is a delay in this.
