BARNEVELD What Mayor Asje van Dijk reported last night is now confirmed by RIVM: two patients in the Barneveld municipality have tested positive for the infectious disease corona. This is evident from the recent figures from RIVM, which were released on Sunday afternoon.

The mayor announced late Saturday evening that it would be a resident from Barneveld and a resident from Voorthuizen. The most recent map of the RIVM also shows that there is one corona patient in the municipality of Ede. With regard to other neighboring municipalities at the moment: Amersfoort 10 patients, Apeldoorn 3, Ermelo 7 and Woudenberg 1. In total, 1135 Dutch people have now tested positive for corona.
AIRWAY COMPLAINTS Coronavirus patients have fever and respiratory complaints. Think of coughing or shortness of breath. The disease is transmitted from person to person. It is currently believed that one sick person can infect two others on average. The sicker a person is, the more he spreads the virus.
People who have a fever and respiratory symptoms of more than 38 degrees and who have also recently had contact with a patient with the coronavirus or who have been in a country with many infections for the past two weeks are advised to contact their GP by telephone. You should not go to the doctor because of the risk of infection.
Risk countries are currently mainly China, South Korea, Iran and Northern Italy. If you are in the risk group, but do not yet have a fever, stay at home and avoid contact with others as much as possible. As soon as a cold or an increase turns into a fever, call your doctor.
EMERGENCY REGULATION To prevent further spread of the virus, it is wise for everyone to wash hands regularly and sneeze or cough in the elbow. Shaking hands is not allowed. Since Thursday afternoon, the government has imposed the rules that meetings with more than a hundred people are prohibited. As of Saturday evening, an emergency ordinance has also been in force in this region.
People who have colds should stay at home as a precaution, people who have the opportunity to work from home are advised to do so.
