The deceased regional members came from Nissewaard (1) and Schiedam (2). In addition, people from Hellevoetsluis (1), Nissewaard (2) and Rotterdam (1) were admitted to the hospital.
Nationwide, 13,902 new positive tests have been reported. That is 2,364 fewer than yesterday. According to the GGD GHOR, the figures are distorted “due to a major malfunction at one of the suppliers”. The figures could also be lower than the actual number of positive tests in the coming days due to the malfunction.
There were more than 16,000 infections in the past two days; 13,902 positive tests is the third highest daily rate since the start of the pandemic. On average, the number of positive corona tests is increasing: in the past seven days, an average of 13,368 positive tests were registered per day. That is 42 percent more than the seven days before.

Which figures does Rijnmond use?
We use the figures that the RIVM publishes every day at 3:15 pm on this page. The figures come from the GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond and the GGD Zuid-Holland Zuid, but can deviate from the corona dashboard per day.
This can be for various reasons, for example the time at which the figures are entered and the fact that our region consists of two GGDs. Both GGDs have a different method for determining the daily figures. By using the same source every day, we have the best view of developments over several days and weeks.
