Rising Cost of Living for University Students in Dijon: Unef Survey Reveals 5.21% Increase in 2023

In Dijon, rents for students go from 409 euros in 2022 to 425 euros on average in 2023, an increase of 0.95%. The increase is 1.89% at the national level. The average rent for a student in France is 570.60 euros per month.

“Above all, there is a lack of Crous accommodation (Regional centers for university and school works, public establishment, Editor’s note). It is estimated that there is a shortage of 6,000 places at the regional level”says Zoé Degoix.

Although it has not increased for several years, the annual rate on the Divia bus and tram network amounts to €315 per year, i.e. €26.25 per month for non-scholarship holders, or €30 for ‘Monthly subscription. The union is asking that the monthly rate reserved for scholarship holders for the bus and tram network, at -50%, or €15 per month, be extended to all students.
