Riot Games is going to include voice chat Valorant to combat misconduct

The company has long had complaints about players harassing, hate speech or otherwise misbehaving. Riot Games writes in one brief that “disruptive behavior via voice chat” is a pain point for many players.

Players are not actively bugged, but their chat is saved. If there is a complaint from another player, Riot Games can listen to the chat. It only concerns voice chat within the official channels of the game.

“If you don’t want your voice chat to be recorded, then you should turn off voice chat,” the game maker writes. Although the feature is currently only being tested in Valorant, all gamers who play games from Riot Games must accept the new conditions next month.

Also on PlayStation

Sony announced a similar one last year function for the PlayStation 5. That led to angry reactions from gamers, who were concerned about their privacy.
