The pedestrian and bicycle parts of the bridge are still used. However, last weekend and this weekend they were not available due to the operation of Rijkswaterstaat. Pedestrians and cyclists therefore have to detour or detour for two kilometres. The western bicycle walkway will open again on Sunday morning at 09:00, followed by the eastern one at 12:00.
The work started around noon with the erection of three cranes. Rijkswaterstaat was not ready until late in the evening. To prevent further damage from occurring, the move had to be done very carefully, a spokesperson for Rijkswaterstaat told ANP news agency.
It is not yet clear how long the investigation at the bridge will take.
