Right on the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Infrastructure Expenditures Translucent IDR 36.47 Trillion

JAKARTA, KOMPAs.com – Until the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) 17 August 2020, financial absorption infrastructure spending Ministry Public Works and People’s Housing ( PUPR) worth IDR 36.47 trillion or 44 percent of the total ceiling for the 2020 Fiscal Year of IDR 83.97 trillion.

Whereas specifically for cash or PKT cash intensive programs (cash for work) routine Ministry of PUPR Rp. 6.84 trillion has been disbursed or 60.14 percent.

As is well known, the Ministry of PUPR has allocated and refocussing activities to support the acceleration of handling Covid-19.

From the initial DIPA amount of Rp. 120.2 trillion, it has been reallocated to become around Rp. 83.97 trillion. As much as Rp. 11.52 trillion of which was earmarked for the PKT.

In addition to allocating a routine PKT program budget for 2020 amounting to IDR 11.5 trillion with a target beneficiary of 614,480 people, the Ministry of PUPR has also made scheme changes to infrastructure programs or activities.

From the beginning it was regular to being implemented under the PKT pattern with a budget allocation of IDR 654 billion and a target beneficiary of 80,000 people.

Entering the third quarter of 2020, the Ministry of PUPR’s infrastructure spending will continue to be boosted and accelerated.

This is especially the one that has a direct impact on reducing unemployment and maintaining people’s purchasing power through the CCP.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the acceleration of infrastructure spending was aimed at helping the National Economic Recovery (PEN), while at the same time maintaining economic growth.

“Infrastructure development is expected to contribute to the recovery of economic conditions,” said Basuki, in a written statement, Monday (17/8/2020).

Basuki added, in FY 2020, the APBN is an instrument that is now highly expected to leverage the national economic recovery in the conditions of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

For this reason, as the Ministry in charge of spending state money, the PUPR Ministry must be able to contribute to PEN by accelerating physical and financial realization.
