“Rīgas modes” releases new album “True Intentions”

The group “Rīgas modes” releases their second full-length album “True Intentions”, which follows the debut album “Fantastiski” (2016).

The new record of “Rīgas modes” is called its growth album, and it includes 13 compositions, which were largely inspired by the pop music classics of the 1980s. Songs, including the previously recognizable singles “Wild Horses”, “We Drove All Night” and “Dancing Alone”, have been recorded in recent years in collaboration with sound engineer Jānis Eglīte and Artūras Liepiņš. Special thanks to Tali Timrot for the recording process.

“Working on this album, we thought about where” Rīgas modes “is in the local music landscape. We are too pop for the alternative stage, but too alternative for the pop scene. And then we realized that this is our biggest advantage, because we can be like Latvian music renegades, operating according to their own rules.

Whatever our name is, we don’t try to be fashionable at all costs. We write pop songs, but they are “dirty” pop songs, “the band members point out.

Friends and guest artists of “Rīgas modes” also take part in the recording, each of whom has brought their own musical winds. In the band’s latest single “Don’t Make Me Wait (Over and Over)”, which also reveals the entire album, Ainars Virga has played the solo guitar, Linda Leen has played the song “Hostage Hostage”, and Sniedze Prauliņa has played the flute. Marta’s Blood ”),“ Dance Alone ”were sung by Zane Biķe, Alise Kante, Lība Ēce-Kalniņa and Guna Leščinska, and in the songs“ Balts Ferrari ”and“ Jazz and Alcohol ”Laima Dimanta sang. Saxophonist Mikus Solovejs deserves a special chapter in this album, who participates in three compositions – “Pārmiju Street”, “We drove all night” and “Bad Dream”.

The True Intent album will be available on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms from today. It is also planned to be released on vinyl, so the band has paid special attention to the record’s drama, dividing it into two acts: “

“Rīgas modes” are: Kalvis Bormanis (vocals), Reinis Papulis (guitar), Anete Stuce (keyboards, vocals), Andris Apīnis (bass) and Mareks Ameriks (drums).
