Ahmed Refaat, the Zamalek wing loaned to the Alexandrian Federation, stated that his statements about football affiliation caused Al-Ahly to retract his annexation after the 2013 African Youth Championship, and explained that his club officially informed him of his return next season.
“I am the one who decided my move to Zamalek, I would have moved to Al-Ahly after the African Championship and I am 19 years old and I had two offers from Europe and when my transfer to Europe did not take place, only Al-Ahly was left,” Rifaat said in his statements to the channel “On Time Sports”.
He continued: “At this time I appeared on a TV program and I said that I encourage Zamalek, and things did not happen and it was difficult for Al-Ahly to contract me, and at the same time the team owned Abu Trika Mohamed Barakat.”
He added: “Al-Ahly was aiming to contract with distinguished youth for the future, but this matter was real because I am really Zamalkawi and I wish to play in Zamalek, thank God that this has been achieved.”
He continued: “Al-Ahly club is any player honored to play for it, and with Zamalek they are the largest in Africa and the Middle East, and I do not underestimate the value of Al-Ahly, but the idea is that you love a club and wish you can come out the best you have for it.”
As for his return to Zamalek, he said: “Presumably, I returned to Zamalek, and I will return to the club formally unless the league resumes, and if the competition continues, I will continue the season with Al-Ittihad, but it is official that the club informed me of his desire to return.”
Ahmed Refaat emerged with the youth team that won the U-21 Championship in Algeria in 2013, and after a good appearance in Enppi, he moved to Zamalek.
