PPP Deputy General Chair Arsul Sani said that the figure who would later become Ganjar’s companion was still being discussed by the general chairs of the coalition parties. Later, this figure will be announced directly by PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“I think like this, regarding Mas Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate, all the party chairmen will discuss, and however, in this coalition or collaboration led by PDIP, of course Mrs. Mega will convey to the public about who will be decided by the coalition whose current position is 4 party,” said Arsul to journalists in the SCBD area, South Jakarta, Sunday (10/9/2023).
When asked whether PPP would leave the coalition if Sandiaga Not selected, Arsul Sani was reluctant to comment. He emphasized that until now his party is still nominating Ganjar as the 2024 presidential candidate in accordance with the results of the PPP National Rapimnas that have been carried out.
“Yes, let’s not speculate just yet, people are still discussing why we are speculating, it’s too early,” he said.
“What is clear, I think, regarding this matter is that PPP friends have confirmed that the PPP’s national meeting decision was to nominate its presidential candidate, Mas Ganjar,” he added.
Arsul Sani said that his party together with other party coalitions would immediately discuss the figure who would accompany Ganjar in 2024. The acceleration of these discussions was in line with the acceleration of the registration period for the President and Vice President with the KPU to 10 – 16 October 2023.
“But what is clear is that with the possibility of speeding up registration, which will be 10 to 16, like it or not, not only the PDIP PPP Hanura and Perindo coalition, but also the Indonesian coalition going forward, I think will speed things up,” he concluded.
