Richard Osman Claims
Richard Osman has recently made claims about well-known actor and creator Richard Gadd and the controversial Netflix series ‘Baby Reindeer‘. According to Osman’s podcast ‘The Rest Is Entertainment‘, Gadd has been open with individuals in the industry about the identity of the person who sexually assaulted him.
Controversial Series
‘Baby Reindeer‘ depicts the story of Donny, played by Gadd, a stand-up comedian who becomes haunted by a woman named Martha and his own experiences of sexual abuse by a prominent television writer. The series is a semi-autobiographical exploration of Gadd’s one-man show.
Osman stated, “There’s a very, very serious thing that happens with a male comedy producer and Richard Gadd. Richard Gadd did the show in Edinburgh and has been very open to people in the industry about who that person was, so people in the industry know who that person was.”
Falsely Accused
Following the show’s success, viewers have attempted to identify the abuser, leading to false accusations towards a director and writer. Osman, in his podcast, clarifies that a different individual, who has previously worked with Gadd, has been wrongly implicated. The actor emphasizes that the wrongly accused person bears a resemblance to the real abuser, resulting in a distressing situation.
Richard Gadd’s Response
Acting upon the persistent speculations and bereavement caused to related parties, Richard Gadd took to social media to urge fans to desist from speculating about the real-life identities of the show’s characters.
