KTU Chemistry Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. Zekeriya Bıklıoğlu said, “We have worked on some molecules in our project and in our experiments on 5 different types of cancer, lung, liver, breast, skin and of prostate, we found that it killed cancer cells in 4 different prostate cancer cells, much better than the drug used as chemotherapy drug in Cancer clinic. When we treat the cells with our molecule, we saw that the cell killing rate is much more effective of anticancer drug used in clinic We have applied for national patents for both of our compounds in the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and registered our national patents. Again, protection of both of our compounds in Europe. We have also applied for an international patent to put it under law,” he said.
