Review: Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 (MTW4) – The Ultimate Wireless Earphone Experience

hello. This is IT blogger Sewol ๐Ÿ™‚

In the current wireless earphone market, there are a wide variety of products with various price ranges, designs, and functions that can meet the needs of each user.

Today, we are back with a review of Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 4th model (MTW4), which is firmly maintaining its tier 1 position in the wireless earphone market where so many models are competing. It is also attracting the attention of existing consumers and is a new product. This MOMENTUM TW 4 model, which feels like it was released with some teething effort to secure a customer base, integrates next-generation wireless technologies such as Snapdragon’s aptX lossless audio codec, LE Audio’s LC3 codec, and Bluetooth 5.4 version, and utilizes these This product clearly embodies Sennheiser’s wireless sound through a 7mm dynamic driver. I have been listening to Sennheiser’s sound with satisfaction starting with the Momentum 4 headphones. The MTW4 produces a sound that brings a slightly different feeling while still feeling the brand’s color that stands out in the existing sound. The first impression of the MTW4 is that it has a design that can’t help but remind me of Sennheiser. It looks flawless, with a square case made of toned-down colored fabric, a neatly positioned brand logo, and neat finishes and details.

However, because it is made of fabric, it still sticks easily like dust or external foreign substances in a bag. ๐Ÿ˜€ The colors of the earbuds I used are black graphite with a sophisticated taste and black copper with a luxurious feel. It was released in three colors, including white silver, which is clean and bright. Thanks to the material of the faceplate with a built-in touch sensor, the earbuds have a clean and solid feel while being a little cold. They also have a built-in wearing sensor, so the user can use the earphones. It automatically operates playback control and noise cancellation by determining whether you are wearing it or not, and is designed so that you can replace the eartips and wingtips to a size that suits your ears. The components include three sizes of wingtips and four sizes of eartips. Therefore, you can create a fit that fits your ears perfectly while providing the best sound. One of the most important factors in wireless earphones is battery life, or playback time. MTW4 can play for up to 7.5 hours per earbud when fully charged, and you can listen to music continuously for up to 30 hours by recharging through the case.

In addition, both wired and wireless charging are supported, so it is safe to say that there is virtually no stress about battery consumption. Music playback and calls are all controlled by touching the faceplate, and touch sensitivity is provided. The level is pretty decent, and since it plays different feedback sounds depending on the number of consecutive touches, there is less worry about possible misoperation. โ–ถResponsive ANC

The reactive active noise canceling (ANC) applied to MTW4 monitors the level of surrounding noise through the six microphones mounted on the earbuds, providing the wearer with the optimal noise canceling strength for each situation.

In other words, even if the No Can is in the same situation, the degree of noise cancellation is different in a quiet office and in a noisy restaurant or on the street. This can cause the wearer’s ears to feel numb due to excessive noise cancellation, or unnecessary white noise. โ–ถListen to surrounding sounds (transparency)

In MTW4’s ambient sound listening mode, sound distortion is significantly reduced. Other than the volume level, such as the sound of wind or car horns, there was no significant difference compared to listening without wearing actual wireless earphones.

By continuously activating the ambient sound listening mode, it was natural enough to sometimes forget that I was wearing wireless earphones and continue conversations with people. Of course, you can adjust the level of ambient sound through the dedicated app (Smart Control). You can adjust it to a level that does not cause fatigue to your ears. As mentioned earlier, if you replace the included wingtips and eartips with a size that fits your ears, you can experience a fairly comfortable fit. In fact, I thought there might be some pressure on the inside of the ear because it is a canal type, but I was able to maintain a comfortable condition without any significant pressure or foreign body sensation. And this stable fit ensures that the earphones can be worn not only when walking down the street, but also during running and slightly aggressive movements. It makes it so you don’t have to worry about them falling out of your ears.

One drawback is that unwanted touches often occur when worn. There may be a degree. The Momentum True Wireless 4 is equipped with a precisely crafted true response 7mm-sized dynamic driver, and as mentioned earlier, it is equipped with the latest codecs and the Bluetooth 5.4 platform (LE Audio), enabling 16-bit/44.1kHz This has laid the foundation for transmitting higher-resolution sound with CD-level sound quality and a bitrate that is about 50% lower than SBC. Aside from the performance of the codec, it has shown considerable stability in Bluetooth connection performance. Even on unstable subway sections and streets that always test the connection performance of wireless devices, the Momentum True Wireless 4 maintained a fairly stable connection. โ–ถThe sound of the MTW4 was

MTW4 incorporates a variety of cutting-edge technologies, but when you listen to the sound, you can tell that Sennheiser’s signature is present.

Tone and balance are greatly influenced by individual tastes, but from what I have heard, the sound of this product is a bit soft and tight! I felt that the balance was well established, with no sections where I hit and hit. To put it in a bad way, you could say that it has no special features, but it also has the characteristic of being able to digest any song well. However, if I had to pick one area, I would say that Sennheiser’s tone is just for vocal songs. The thought of pushing the low range a little more crosses my mind for a moment, but when I hear the soft voice of the vocalist, my ears feel calm and clear. I like rich low ranges, so unfortunately, I turn on the bass boost in the EQ settings of the dedicated app, but it doesn’t work. For the rest of the section, there is nothing lacking at all with just the basic tone.

Oh, and the sound pressure is quite abundant. It’s a different field to compare, but in fact, there was always about 1% of the stuffiness that remained in the Momentum 4 headphones I used before, as if they were blocked somewhere. It has completely disappeared in Momentum True Wireless 4. Additionally, it is also equipped with a low-latency mode. So that we can eliminate factors such as inconvenience for mobile gamers and unstable audio sync in video. Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 4, which we have looked at so far, is the successor to Sennheiser’s next-generation wireless earphone flagship lineup. There seems to be no shortage of elements. Solid build quality and sophisticated design, a comfortable and focused listening environment created by adaptive noise canceling, efficient and lossless sound reproduction using next-generation codecs and a Bluetooth platform, and stable fit and clear call quality. Since it is equipped with it, it can be said that it has a competitive edge that will not be defeated no matter where it is put on the market ๐Ÿ™‚ MTW4 began pre-orders on February 15th, and will finally go on official sale on March 1st. So, if you are interested in the MOMENTUM TW 4, which we recommend as powerful next-generation wireless earphones, please get more detailed information through the link below.
