According to revelations made by journalists in the Washington Post, Donald Trump is said to have proposed an alternative method of treatment for Americans abroad:
– If we do not have an island we own, the president should have asked the Trump administration, which was gathered in the situation room in February 2020, and followed up with the question;
– What about Guantánamo?
The proposal came as a great surprise to the other meeting participants.
– We import goods, Trump should have specified to the assembly, and still with;
– We do not have to import a virus.
The advisers rejected the proposal
When Trump asked the question for the second time, the proposal was rejected by the president’s advisers, who were concerned about the consequences of sending Americans abroad to the same place as the United States holds terrorist suspects, writes Washington Post.
– Where’s Melania?
The Guantánamo detention center is known, among other things, for its harsh interrogation methods, which have recently been branded as torture, and for forcibly feeding prisoners such as the hunger strike.
The prison was established in 2002 in connection with the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11 the year before, and nearly 800 people have been imprisoned there over the years.
These inside conversations are among the revelations in the new book “Nightmare Scenario”, written by Washington Post journalists Yasmeen Abutaleb and Damian Paletta.
The book addresses the Trump administration’s handling of the pandemic, and journalists have spoken to more than 180 people. Including several senior figures in the White House and leading figures in the health authorities.
