Revealed new details of the world of Horizon Forbidden West

Guerrilla Games revealed a few more details of the long-awaited Horizon Forbidden West, this time focusing on the sequel’s world.

How is detailed in a message published on the PlayStation Blog and in a press release sent to VideoGamer Portugal, the post-apocalyptic lands of the Horizon series are occupied by several tribes, each with its own history.

“When members of a tribe are in their colony, their safe havens can be themselves. Historically and socially, the Oseram are a patriarchal tribe, so their animations are more about punching the shoulders and high fives,” commented Espen Sogn, lead designer of the game’s living world.

“The Utaru, on the other hand, are laid-back, so they usually sit together and are a little more mellow,” he continued.

You will find some of these humans in one of the first colonies in the game, called Chainscrape. We know it will be an Oseram camp on the West border. “With so much activity, so many visual cues, Chainscrape was a place where we can demonstrate many new systems and animations that make the world and its people seem so much more alive.”

Again, these camps will function as hubs where Aloy can improve his skills. You will also have the opportunity to buy items, weapons and armor from sellers. Crucially, each will function differently due to these camps.

For example, an Oseram boss will look like a different person than a Tenakth boss. The blog also mentions the new customization options they will have with the protagonist’s costume. The new Workbenches will allow for forging and improving machine parts.

after having been postponed, Horizon Forbidden West will be published on February 8, 2022 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Last month we got to know better some of the skills as a protagonist.
