Survivor Compensation Claims – The law concerns the return of assets confiscated from Polish Jews during World War II and, according to Israeli media, sets a deadline after which claims for compensation from Holocaust survivors will no longer be considered.
“A moral debt of Poland” – Director General Allon Bar, according to the statement, added that in this case “it is not a historical debate on responsibility in the Shoah, but a moral debt of Poland towards its citizens whose assets were stolen during the Shoah”.
