Retreats Expected as Angers Anticipates New Demonstrations and Radicalization

The demonstration brought together 7,000 people in Angers despite the difficulties for some of going on strike. The procession was obviously less important than the previous demonstrations.

2000 people demonstrated in Saumur this morning and about 1500 in Cholet.

Whatever the result of the vote in the National Assembly, the unions announced that the movement would harden.

A local inter-union strike picket has blocked the waste technical center since Monday, March 13, 5 a.m. Collection teams cannot leave the site and service providers cannot empty trucks there, waste collection is severely disrupted for an indefinite period.

This Wednesday, March 15:

– the collection of sorting (packaging / paper) door-to-door and voluntary contribution is not possible, for lack of outlets, for all the municipalities of Angers Loire Métropole. Residents are encouraged to bring in their bins and bags as much as possible.
