The designer unveils a photo on set, where she appears masked alongside the director. The production of season 2 is therefore (re) launched, while respecting barrier gestures.
Geralt de Riv will return to Netflix for a second season of these adventures. The road to broadcasting was not without pitfalls for the crews who had to interrupt filming last March. After several months of doubt, and waiting for the fans, the horizon clears up as everyone seems to have resumed the path of film sets. Lauren S. Hissrich, the creator of the series The Witcher, shares an image that gives hope for an arrival in early 2021 on the platform. We see him in the middle of a discussion with the director Stephen Surjik, a few meters away and both masked. “This is the fourth series that we have done together and we are further apart than ever, but we are ready to do it”. On the other hand, the publication gives no clue as to what will happen next for Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer, or even an appearance by the actors. We will have to wait a little longer to hope to see the first images.

As a reminder, The Witcher follows the adventures of Geralt de Riv (Henry Cavill) and his faithful friend Dandelion (Joey Batey). This witcher has only one mission: to defeat or capture magical creatures. On his way, he will meet Ciri (Freya Allan), a young girl on the run, and Yennefer, a powerful witch played by Anya Chalotra. This second season will visibly see a slew of new characters appear since several new players are announced at the casting. Netflix, in addition to wanting to reproduce the success of Game of Thrones, went to draw in the actors of the HBO series. Thus, we will find Kristofer Hivju (who camps Tormund in GOT) in the skin of a character who still remains secret. For the moment Netflix did not give the official release date, and that’s not surprising. The platform generally waits until the last minute to add a production to its calendar, so you will have to wait. At the rate things are going, and if everything goes according to plan, we can hope to find it on our screens in 2021, or one year after the first burst of episodes.
