Residents will be able to use municipal garbage containers at no cost

Richardson residents who have not yet finished cleanup after the February winter storm can rent municipal trash containers at no cost.

The storm left many homes without power, blew up water pipes and damaged some homes.

Through this service, neighbors can dispose of debris in a single container instead of having to take materials out to the sidewalk and call for brush and bulky items to be collected, said Paula Johnson, the city’s environmental services superintendent, in a video report.

The service is being offered temporarily free of charge for seven days to people affected by the storm. There is more information about the service on the internet.
