Researchers discover new species of dinosaur

Scientists have discovered the presence of a new dinosaur species in Greenland, they announced in a study published in early November and reported in various international media this week. like Sky News.

The researchers, who were part of an international team consisting of Portuguese, Danish and Germans, announced their results. on the website of the editor of the MDPI scientific journal. This was a herbivorous dinosaur, with a long, medium-sized neck called Issi Saaneq, in Inuit, which means “cold feet” in French.

Anatomy “unique”

While alive, “Earth has faced significant climatic changes that allowed herbivorous dinosaurs to reach Europe and continue their journey,” Professor Lars Clemmensen, from the University of Copenhagen, told Sky News.

“The anatomy of the two skulls is unique in many ways, especially in the shape and ratio of the bones,” said Victor Beccari, lead author of the study.

This dinosaur, according to the authors, has certain similarities with other dinosaurs found in Brazil. Once all research is complete, the fossil will be transferred to the Danish Museum of Natural History.
