Research: just over half of the Dutch are behind corona policy | Inland

The investigation was carried out on behalf of the NOS between 11 and 14 February, when the plans for the far-reaching relaxation that are likely to be announced on Tuesday evening had already been announced.

The vast majority of respondents indicate that they want to relax further, a total of 85 percent. Of this group, 38 percent are even in favor of abandoning all measures. “The share of ‘letting go completely’ has never been so large before,” according to I&O Research. “Only 9 percent want to maintain the current measures and only 3 percent want to tighten them further.”

Although 85 percent want relaxation, there are measures that people would like to maintain. According to the research, this would involve staying at home and testing for complaints (56 percent) and wearing a face mask in public transport (49 percent).

On Tuesday evening, care minister Ernst Kuipers will announce which relaxations will be implemented. The Outbreak Management Team (OMT) has already considered the proposed plans, which include extending the opening hours of the catering industry, and according to insiders, has no objection.
