In the pursuit of the requalification of the city center of Hyères (Var), redevelopments will be carried out on the avenues Gambetta, General-de-Gaulle and des Iles-d’Or, from October 2022. They are planned in three phases. The first, which should be completed in April 2023, concerns the sector of Place Portalet, Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle and the lower part of Avenue Gambetta. The work will consist of installing street furniture with shaded seats and setting up large planted areas in the pedestrian area of the avenue.
The second phase, which will take place between October 2023 and April 2024, will be carried out on the upper part of Avenue Gambetta, Rue Pierre-Moulis and at the Carrefour des Dames-de-France. The operation aims to create a single descending traffic lane on Avenue Joseph-Clotis. In addition to the widening and greening of the sidewalks, it includes the development of a roundabout at the intersection of Avenues Gambetta, Avenue du Maréchal-Lyautey and Rue du Soldat-Bellon.
The last phase of the project will run from October 2024 to April 2025. It will include the installation of street furniture on Avenue des Iles-d’Or.
