“The TCG meeting has ended. Without zrad and breakthroughs. <...> The humanitarian subgroup of the “republic” came up with a new reason not to open the CPVV. Deynego and Nikanorova demand direct contacts between the sanitary doctors of ORDLO and Ukraine “to solve the problem of coronavirus restrictions.” This sounds strange, because at the end of the year, Ukraine, for its part, lifted all entry restrictions related to COVID,” Garmash said.
At the same time, he expressed bewilderment as sanitary doctors from the lands controlled by the Ukrainian government can influence the fact that the ORDLO lifted restrictions from their side.
The issue of prisoner exchange was also raised at the meeting.
“Despite the fact that the exchange of everyone for everyone, without any preconditions, is directly recorded in the Minsk agreements, they require either the procedural purification of those whom we have already handed over to them, or the adoption of an amnesty law in general. Although one absolutely does not fit with the other. That is, there is simply no political will to do what Russia has pledged to do by signing under Minsk,” the representative of the Ukrainian delegation said.
Finally, Garmash said that if any agreements on Minsk are reached at the meeting of the Normandy Four leaders’ advisers, then the next meeting within the framework of the TCG will take place in the near future. Otherwise, the parties will meet on March 2.
Recall that the issues of opening a checkpoint in the Donbas and the exchange of detained persons are among the main ones that the Ukrainian delegation I intend to raise it at the meeting of the Norman advisers in Berlin on February 10.
