Several news outlets, including Reuters and The Guardian, are reporting a major Russian missile attack on Monday. These last experiences that over a hundred Russian missiles, including cruise missiles, were supposed to be launched.
Ukrainian authorities say anti-aircraft sirens have been sounding across the continent.
Monitoring site Ukraine Siren Alerts warns of “extreme danger” in Cherkasy oblast, in the middle of the country, and urges residents to seek shelter immediately.
– The missiles have already been launched, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said, according to Reuters.
Newspaper: Explosions in multiple places
The Kyiv Independent 13.00 Norwegian time talks about the explosions in five different oblasts after the air defense sirens: Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Poltava.
It is currently unclear which of the explosions are due to the downing of the missiles or which are due to the missiles hitting the targets.
According to Reuters, Ukraine’s presidential office says Russian missiles have destroyed several private homes in the southern part of Zaporizhzhya Oblast, which is also home to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
Kyiv Governor Oleksiy Kuleba reports on Telegram that the Air Force is operating in the county around the capital.
