Doubts began to circulate around the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match in the General League Championship, scheduled for February 24th and postponed from the fourth round of the championship’s age.
The meeting was supposed to take place on October 19 of last year, in the fourth week of the competition, but the confrontation was postponed due to security conditions, after which it was decided to determine the 24th of this month to hold the match.
The Al-Ahly and Zamalek teams are currently in the Emirates, to take part in the Egyptian Super Meeting, in the match that takes place next Thursday, at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The statements began, by Zamalek officials, to postpone the meeting, so that the two teams can prepare well for the African matches, where Zamalek is set to face the Tunisian Esperance in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while Al-Ahly faces the South African Sundowns in the same round, at the end of this month .
Amir Mortada Mansour, the general supervisor of the ball in Zamalek said through previous statements: “There must be one criterion, the Football Association, who postponed two games Al-Ahly and Zamalek, in front of Enppi and Al-Masry without a request from the clubs, because the two teams are preparing for two very important matches, with a conclusion The group stage of the Champions League, especially Al-Ahly, which was required to achieve a positive result against Al-Hilal to ensure qualification for the next round.
He added: “I hope the Football Association will support the two clubs, as Al-Ahly and Zamalek represent the Egyptian football. In this exclusionary stage of the continental competition, we are definitely ready for the match, but why does this not happen now, I do not see a justification for the match in its due time.”
For his part, Ismail Youssef, a member of the White Castle Board, said, surprisingly, with a high caliber, revealing that he had information regarding the summit meeting, that the decision to establish the meeting or not, will be taken, after the Super Game.
Syed Abdul Hafeez, the football director of Al-Ahly Club, has stated earlier that the discussion of the postponement of the summit was not carried out in the first place, according to the arrangements of the technical staff, according to the schedule announced by the Football Association.
The Football Association had sent a letter to the two clubs, confirming that the meeting would be held on time, at 7:30 p.m. on February 24 at the Cairo International Stadium.
Also, Hani Zadeh, a member of the Al-Abyad Board of Directors, also called in previous press statements to postpone the game indefinitely in order to give the opportunity to Al-Ahly and Zamalek to prepare for the Champions League matches.
