Report 2020 – Intermunicipal waste management board of the Gaspé Peninsula

The RITMRG has just published its 2020 report for the management of residual materials in the territories of the Rocher-Percé and La Côte-de-Gaspé RCMs.

Despite all the efforts made in our territories over the past 10 years, with the establishment of ecocentres and three-way collection in particular, we note that landfill remains the most important sector in terms of tonnage treated.

The year 2021 and the following ones will be decisive in reducing landfilling but also management costs, not to mention the environmental impact associated with the management of these residual materials.

In 2021, the Rocher-Percé and La Côte-de-Gaspé RCMs are starting to draft the next residual materials management plan (PGMR). Source reduction, reuse and landfill reduction remain priority targets of the next plan.
