Finding an apartment: an almost impossible mission! Rental tension has only increased in recent months according to the latest study published by the ORPI real estate network. Decryption…

A real obstacle course! Inability to access property, Paris 2024 Olympic Games… Rental tension is increasing every month according to the latest study published by the ORPI real estate network. 42.5% of those questioned say they have been looking for accommodation to rent for more than a year and 21.7% for more than six months. Moreover, more than a third of respondents say they have sent more than ten visit requests! However, 54% of rental candidates say they have not made any visits…

Nearly 7 out of 10 tenants have a budget of less than 800 euros

It is medium-sized accommodation that is most sought after. In fact, 36.9% of candidates are looking for a two-room apartment, 36% are looking for a 3-room apartment and 20.3% of candidates opt for large homes with four rooms or more. However, we know the expression, money doesn’t fall from the sky… Even if they are forced to increase their rent budget. 67% of respondents want to spend 500 to 800 euros per month on their rent. 25.5% are ready to spend between 800 and 1,200 euros and only 7.2% have planned an envelope greater than 1,200 euros.

Good news all the same for the candidates the most vulnerable, those looking for often small properties such as students and young workers… The reform of the calculation of the DPE for properties of less than 40 m², supposed to put 140,000 homes back on the rental market.
