Theater actress Yoon Seok-hwa (67) is fighting a malignant brain tumor after undergoing surgery.
Yoon Seok-hwa said in a phone call with Yonhap News on the 28th, “After undergoing surgery for a malignant brain tumor in October of last year, my current condition has repeatedly improved and deteriorated.”
“I heard from my doctor that the size of the tumor is shrinking,” he said. “I am currently stopping chemotherapy and trying to follow the doctor’s instructions.”
Yoon Seok-hwa has not been able to stand on stage since the play ‘Hamlet’, which opened in July last year. He said, “Since March of this year, I have been thinking that I will go to the concert hall once a week and see a performance, so I watch a performance that lasts for more than 3 hours.” We are fighting against him,” he said.
Yoon Seok-hwa, who debuted in 1975 with the play ‘Honey Taste’, left works such as ‘Agnes of God’, ‘Hamlet’, and ‘Letter to Daughter’. She won the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Actress four times, and she received the Donga Theater Award and Lee Hae-rang Theater Award.
