Remembering Manuel Guerrero: The Loss of a Radio Legend and Beatles Enthusiast

The entertainment world is once again in mourning because this Wednesday the death of radio host Manuel Guerrero Stereo, emblematic voice of Universal Stereo, was reported.

Through its Twitter account, Grupo Radio Centro “deeply regretted the death of our collaborator and great friend.” Manuel Guerrero. “Our most sincere condolences and solidarity to his family and loved ones.”

To date, the causes of death are unknown, however, the various social networks dedicated to The Beatles mourned the death, as it is known that Guerrero was one of the greatest connoisseurs of the band.

Grupo Radio Centro regretted the death of the announcer.

One of the programs in which he participated and is one of the most remembered is ‘The Beatles Club’which aired on Universal Stereo.

The program was dedicated to the music of the Liverpool quartet, and was broadcast for more than 30 years on Radio Centro at 92.1.

Who was Manuel Guerrero?

According to the biography published in Universal 88.1, he declared himself a music fan from a young age, with the decades of the 60s and 70s being the ones that marked his life.

When he was only 13 years old, he won a prize of 64 thousand pesos, within a program that was hosted by Pedro Ferriz on Televisa, answering a trivia about band data.

Since then, he already declared himself a fan of The Beatles and assured that his intention was not to obtain the money, but to demonstrate that he was the musicians’ biggest fan.

“I wanted to show that the Beatles issue was important and give my parents satisfaction… it was wonderful because everyone turned to see me,” he mentioned.

The announcer interviewed personalities such as: Paul McCartney, Queen, Kiss, Olivia Newton-John, Creedence, Deep Purple, Alan Parsons, Iron Maiden, Laura Branigan, Sheena Easton, Kenny Rogers, Peter Cetera, Slash and Level 42.

In 2016, Manuel Guerrero He received recognition from the Autonomous University of Querétaro for his work in disseminating the music of the Beatles.
